Barcelona launches

In Barcelona finding family activities can be a challenging task. However, there is now a new destination that is sure to delight children and adults alike: “La Platgeta del Poblenou”.

This newly opened playground offers a wide range of entertainment options in a space of 800 square meters, making it an exciting attraction in the middle of the city’s urban landscape.

Barcelona will have its first direct bike lane to the beach

What sets “La Platgeta del Poblenou” apart is its focus on inclusion and accessibility. This space has been designed to ensure that children with functional diversity and disabilities can also fully enjoy the activities.

From accessible swings to wheelchair-friendly slides, the park strives to promote equality in play. With play areas designed for different ages and abilities, all children can participate and have fun without restrictions.

The park has a wide variety of attractions designed to stimulate imagination and fun.

From a trampoline course to long slides, balancing games and climbing nets, there is something for everyone. In addition, a shaded area has been installed to provide respite from the sun during hot days, ensuring a comfortable experience for the whole family.

Serious pollution crisis on Barcelona’s beaches

Located at the beginning of the Rambla de Poblenou and close to the beach, “La Platgeta del Poblenou” is the ideal destination for a family day out.

After enjoying the park’s activities, visitors can head to the coast for a seaside picnic or a stroll along the beach. With its privileged location, this park becomes a meeting point for the local community and tourists alike.

Part of a broader plan

The district of Sant Martí in Barcelona stands out for its unique children’s play areas, such as ‘La platgeta del Poblenou’. It is part of the Public Space Play Plan, promoting accessibility and inclusion of children. Together with other districts, such as Eixample, Nou Barris and Sants-Montjuïc, Sant Martí leads in the creation of these spaces.

There are no monitors for assisted bathing on beaches for people with disabilities.

It currently has three parks, including the Parc de les Glòries and the Torres d’Alfons el Magnànim. In addition, another large area is being built in the Glòries Catalanes park, which promises to be one of the largest in the city for the entertainment of its young citizens.

This park is just one of the many inclusive play areas that the Barcelona City Council plans to open in the coming years to ensure that all children have the opportunity to play and have fun in a safe and autonomous manner.
