Badalona and its new study room to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

Badalona launches study room open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

Badalona is preparing to inaugurate an innovative study room available 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Located at the intersection of Vila and Vall-llebrera streets, in the Coll i Pujol and Sant Crist de Can Cabanyes districts, this new resource represents a significant step forward in the city’s educational and cultural sphere.

With an extension of 400 square meters, this study room will be designed to meet the diverse needs of Badalona residents in terms of reading, individual study and collaborative work.

The project, presented by Mayor Xavier Garcia Albiol and the third deputy mayor, Daniel Gracia, responds to the growing demand for study spaces by the local academic community.

One of the highlights of this new study room is its access system, which will be done through a mobile application.

This approach not only ensures the safety of users, with constant surveillance connected to the Guardia Urbana, but also allows convenient and trouble-free access at any time of the day or night.

In addition to its practical function as a study space, this initiative symbolizes a significant advance in the urban structuring of Badalona.

In the words of Mayor Garcia Albiol, “With this initiative, we compensate a historical debt with the neighborhoods of Coll i Pujol and Sant Crist, which had been marginalized in terms of cultural infrastructures”.

The project, with an investment of 300,000 euros, aims to complete the adaptation works before the summer so that the study room can be operational in the second half of the year.

However, this is only the beginning, as the council plans to open two additional spaces during this term, anticipating a continued commitment to the educational and cultural advancement of the city.

The implementation of this new study space in Badalona, in addition to improving the quality of public services in terms of accessibility and modernity, also places the city in a leading position in supporting education and culture.

This lays the foundation for a brighter future for the region’s students and professionals.

Innovative Badalona

The mayor of Badalona anticipated that this study hall will mark a before and after in the educational and cultural offerings of the city, being only the beginning of future projects to improve the quality of life of residents.

The implementation of this study room in Badalona positions the city at the forefront of support for education and culture.
