Renovations begin in the wake room at Parets Cemetery

Renovations have already begun in the wake room of the Parets del Vallès Cemetery (Vallès Oriental), aimed at fully restoring this area of the cemetery.

The investment for the renovations will amount to 166,199 euros. Joan Massó Talabera is in charge of the whole intervention.

The goal is to achieve the complete renovation of the wake room, including its layout, air conditioning, electrical installations, furniture and finishes.

The works are expected to last until October 21, 2022, so the hall will be closed and will not provide the usual service.

Therefore, the wake service can be carried out at the Monserdà Funeral Home in Mollet and each funeral home will offer its own service and accompaniment.

For all other services, the cemetery will continue to be open to the public with the same hours of operation.

Burials will continue to be carried out as usual.

Cemetery of Parets Cemetery and other works

The Municipal Cemetery of Parets del Vallès had already carried out other recovery works. Concrete paver paving and other improvements were made in late 2020.

Drainage pipes were also renewed and other sections of the cemetery were upgraded.

By the end of 2021, the City Council of Parets (Vallès Oriental) on All Saints’ Day inaugurated a space for losses during pregnancy or childbirth.

The initiative was born with the purpose of making the reality of perinatal deaths visible and accompanying families who suffer this type of bereavement.
