Prisa Media relaunches Estudi Toresky as a new multimedia production center

Interactive nativity scene and technological Christmas in Barcelona

Located in the heart of Barcelona, renovated and equipped with the latest audiovisual technology, Ràdio Barcelona of Prisa Media Catalunya relaunched the Estudi Toresky.

The objective is to turn this space into a production center with the capacity to generate innovative audiovisual content and consolidate itself as a venue for events in the city.

The re-launch was led by Prisa’s Executive Chairman, Carlos Núñez, on Thursday, December 15, 2022.

Also present, among other personalities, were Joseph Oughourlian, president of the Prisa group, and Jaume Serra, the group’s delegate in Catalonia.

The inauguration of the new space is aimed at continuing to promote the validity of the group’s different media, including EL PAÍS, to go beyond the airwaves and the digital and traditional paper editions.

The Toresky Study

This studio is the most emblematic of Ràdio Barcelona.

It bears this name thanks to the Barcelona broadcaster Josep Torres Vilata (1869-1937), better known as Toresky. One of the first stars of national radio during the 1930s.

He was also a pioneer in the development of innovative formats such as radio theater.

In the fifties and in the middle of the reform of the main studio of Ràdio Barcelona, the studio began to bear this name.

Over the years it has been moved on several occasions. However, he has given life to the station’s main programs: radio theater, La comarca nos visita, Radio-scope. In these spaces Catalan singing talents, such as Joan Manuel Serrat, became known.

The renovation carried out by Grupo Prisa intends for this space to continue to be a social reference in the city.

Space renovation

The renovation included Estudi Toresky’s lighting, sound system and air conditioning.

An LED screen measuring 11 meters long by 2.5 meters high was also installed with the capacity to wrap around the studio.

Thanks to all these improvements and by structuring a modern stage, companies will be able to use this television technology in their own productions and events.

The Estudi was also equipped with areas suitable for round tables, product launches, press conferences and other events.

The space completed its renovation, the work on which had been progressing over the last few months.

For his part, Prisa’s Executive Chairman, Carlos Núñez, stressed that the group is at a “fantastic starting point” to strengthen and consolidate its position in Catalonia.

This space is ideal for events in the center of Barcelona.

He also recalled that this renovation is the beginning of the work aimed at celebrating the centenary of Ràdio Barcelona in 2024.

The inauguration event was also attended by Ignacio Soto, general manager of Cadena SER; Fran Llorente, head of Prisa Vídeo and Montserrat Domínguez, content director of Cadena SER, among others.
