Exactly where the old Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya de Sants in Barcelona used to be, Nobu opens a new hotel and Robert de Niro is the owner. It is the “Hotel Nobu”, a wonderful five-star luxury establishment. The opening is part of the growth of the American chain Nobu Hospitality, founded in 2013 and co-founded by de Niro along with film producer Meir Treper and chef Nobu Matsuhisa.

Nobu Hospitality is backed by the Spanish hotel group Selenta Group. The hotel will be the fourth property in Europe and the third established in Spain of this international hotel chain.

The luxury hotel is scheduled to open on September 12 of this year, although reservations have been taking place since May 23. The hotel has 259 rooms and suites whose most economical value per night is 250 euros.

Robert de Niro definitely complements his successful career as one of the best actors of the 20th century with his thriving business. His performance in The Godfather II, The Big Revenge, Taxi Driver or His Fathers, have given him worldwide prominence, which in turn has made him highly recognized for attracting clients to his new hotel.

Director Martin Scorsese’s darling will make a hit with the opening of Nobu in Barcelona.

What Nobu offers you

It has 23 floors and on the top floor the first panoramic Nobu restaurant in the city with a 360 degree view of the Catalan capital. Thanks to the philosophy of its founder, chef Nobu Matsuhisa, you can enjoy a varied menu according to each of its locations around the world.

On this occasion, local ingredients will allow you to taste delicious dishes influenced by Catalan cuisine along with the classic foods offered by the brand around the world.

The hotel also offers a spa, fitness room and the “Kozara” bar, whose menu includes local and Japanese tapas.

Assuming that Nobu opens a new hotel in Barcelona, the objective is to generate approximately 150 jobs.

This new establishment joins the Nobu in Marbella and Eivissa in Spain and those in New York, Alaska, Peru and Argentina, among others, that the renowned American chain has in the rest of the world.

Will de Niro be at the inauguration?

The hotel chain indicates that Robert De Niro will not be present at the official opening of the hotel. But even so, the world’s press and special guests will be watching the event in the Catalan capital. Over the years, de Niro has become a hotel magnate.
