From March and for 13 euros, Ryanair launches direct flight from Barcelona to Trieste (Italy)

Ryanair, the Irish low-cost airline founded in 1984, announced that it will launch a direct flight between Barcelona and Trieste (Italy) starting next March. From this Italian city it is also easy to travel to Slovenia and Croatia.

The route will operate twice a week and the cost of the ticket will be between 13 and 25 euros.

The new connection will become operational on March 31, 2023 and will continue to operate during the peak of the upcoming summer season, ending in October.

Ryanair informed that the new air route was born thanks to an agreement between the airline itself, the airport management of the Italian city of Trieste and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.

The frequency of two flights per week will improve connectivity and increase passenger traffic in the coming years.

It also seeks to promote the region’s tourism potential.

This route opens up a wide variety of possibilities for travelers to not only visit this northern Italian city, but also to travel to other countries.

This direct flight will make it possible to visit, among others, countries such as Croatia and Slovenia, which border Trieste.

The pleasure of the opening of this new route was confirmed by the Director of Tourism Operations of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Iacopo Mestroni, who highlighted the connection between Barcelona and Trieste.

He stated that both Italians and locals are offered a wide range of options to visit. For example, it is ideal for culture lovers, as well as for those who want to relax on the shores of the Adriatic or Mediterranean beaches and for those travelers who long to tour the Pyrenees, Alps or Dolomites.

For her part, Marta Aldana of Turisme de Barcelona, in charge of international promotion of the European market, indicated that for Barcelona, Italy is one of the most important markets in Europe.
