Barcelona Abierta promotes a selection of routes through the center of Barcelona this Christmas

The Union of Commercial and Tourist Axes of Barcelona, Barcelona Oberta with the collaboration of two leading companies in the route sector (CultRuta and Icono Servicios Culturales) will offer unpublished routes through the city center to rediscover it while doing Christmas shopping.

Under the slogan “It’s your Barcelona, discover it!” the organization Barcelona Oberta, which brings together the twenty main commercial and tourist areas of the city, offers a selection of unpublished routes for resident and visiting families to rediscover the city of Barcelona during the Christmas season and until Epiphany.
“In this context of mobility restrictions because of Covid-19, from Barcelona Oberta we want to remind residents and visitors that there are alternative activities to do, such as the many interesting routes to discover the city center taking advantage of these days of Christmas shopping” says Nuria Paricio, general director of Barcelona Oberta The entity has selected about 30 routes of CultRuta i Icono Serveis Culturals for all ages and occasions, from those that evoke the past and help us understand the present (La Barcelona del franquisme, Secrets and legends of the Born or Raval, Paral-lel oci i revolta, among others) through artistic routes (Modernisme amagat a Rambla Catalunya and also literary (Tour L’Ombra del Vent, La Catedral del Mar,…) and of course, commercial routes (Comerços històrics Ciutat Vella, Passeig de Gràcia, art i luxe. On the Barcelona Oberta website you can access the list of selected routes “It’s your Barcelona, discover it” and book directly with the organizing companies. The campaign will be disseminated through the different communication channels (newsletters, websites and social networks) of the different organizing entities, which will also raffle some routes among their followers. With this initiative, Barcelona Oberta wants to contribute its grain of sand in the revitalization of the city center in these dates so marked for trade, helping the recovery of the sector.
