The Montsec Astronomical Park presents the exciting 13th edition of the cycle “Music under the stars”, an event that combines two passions: music and astronomy, in one of the darkest skies of Catalonia.
This fascinating annual cycle offers a magical experience for music enthusiasts and astronomy lovers, giving them the opportunity to enjoy live concerts under the impressive dome of the space known as Ull del Montsec, while admiring the mysterious and brilliant night universe.
The astronomical observatory, located in Àger, has become the perfect place to experience the unique combination of live music and astronomical observation in the exceptional environment offered by the night sky of this region.
Concerts of different musical styles will take place from September through December, and each will be followed by stargazing sessions in the telescope park, allowing attendees to explore the wonders of the universe after enjoying the music.
Music Under the Stars at the Astronomical Observatory of Montsec
This year’s “Music under the Stars” program features five different concerts, each with its own style, which will surely please all musical tastes.
The artists and groups that will participate in this year’s 2023 edition are the following:
- Saturday, September 9, 2023: Elle León (Art Rock), time: 10:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
- Saturday, October 14: Asori (Indie Pop-Rock) : 22.00 h – 23.00 h
- Saturday, October 28th: Carles Viarnès (Electronic-Contemporary) : 22.00 h – 23.00 h
- Saturday, November 11: Jazz Pretenders (Jazz) | 22.00 h – 23.00 h
- Saturday, December 9: Selva Nua (Pop-Soul) | 20:00 h – 21:00 h
Each concert promises a unique and magical experience, with live music resonating under the majestic dome of the Ull del Montsec, while the audience is taken on an astronomical journey, exploring the secrets of the universe in telescope observation sessions.
Technology, music and beauty
The planetarium’s new digital system, featuring high-resolution images, will accompany each performance, further enriching the experience for the audience.
Visitors will have the opportunity to marvel at the music of artists and groups from Catalonia or residing in Catalonia in a truly exceptional setting, surrounded by the beauty of the cosmos.
Tickets for each concert are now available on the website of parqueastronomic.cat, and the price is 20.00 €, which includes access to the concert and the various activities offered by the Montsec Astronomical Park.
The “Music under the stars” series is a unique opportunity to combine the passion for music with the awe and wonder of the universe.
In addition, the astronomical observatory also organizes another concert within the framework of the Montsec Astronomy Festival, which is held annually during a weekend in autumn.
