The 'Encants Vells' market moves to new locationThe market‘Encants Vells‘ or Fira Bellcaire, located in the Plaza de les Glòries in Barcelona, is one of the most antique markets in Europe and, of course, one of the most interesting, visited and charming of Barcelona. Its history begins in the XIV century; and since then it has been in charge of giving commercial dynamism and a lot of life to the city.

The market has more than 15,000 m2 in which more than 500 merchants have managed to get out from here to all kinds of objects, both old and new, from handmade products to other high-tech. The secret of success? The prices have become an attraction that draws more than 100,000 people every week.

Well, since yesterday the 25th, the market ‘Encants Vell’ writes a new page in its history, leaving things behind and looking to the future, because since yesterday has a new location…

The new “Encants Barcelona” market expands in a place that has more than double its former surface, exactly 33,306 m2; and is located in the old Bosquet dels Encants, at the intersection of Meridiana Avenue and Castillejos Street, in the Eixample district.
This new location will allow to develop the activity in a more comfortable way, under shelter and protected from the sun thanks to its cover, but preserving the feeling of an open-air market. The project also includes a subway parking garage with capacity for 300 vehicles and a dedicated loading and unloading floor.
