It is well known that if a restaurant has earned a Michelin star, it is because it is characterized by its quality, excellence, innovation and exceptional customer service. And this is why these restaurants are not very affordable, because we are talking about the best restaurants in the world! What few people know is that the Michelin Guide also awards very similar prizes to restaurants with prices below 35 euros.

Yes, as you just read, since 1997 there are Bib Gourmand awards. You can eat in restaurants with high quality gastronomy, without having to pay large sums of money. And in Barcelona, these are the restaurants that have been deserving of the award.

Bib Gourmand: Which are the restaurants in Barcelona that are on the Michelin Guide list?

The first thing you need to know is that, in order to enter the list, these restaurants have to offer a two-course menu and dessert for less than 35 euros.

In Barcelona there were already six restaurants on this list, and these were recently joined by another two. That is, for this 2023 there are a total of eight restaurants to enjoy the best gastronomy recommended by Michelin.

1. Nairod (Aribau 141, Barcelona)

It is located in the heart of Eixample, and is a restaurant with a bistro atmosphere and very intimate where you can enjoy a market cuisine. In its menu, game dishes are the main dishes during the season, among which the hare, partridge, pigeon and deer stand out.

2. Berbena (Minerva 6, Barcelona)

Located in a small house, very simple and informal where you can enjoy without any restrictions. There they bet on simple dishes, but very captivating. Its base are seasonal Mediterranean products, you can also find creations with Asian and South American elements.

3. Cruix (Entença 57)

It is an informal restaurant that offers a proposal with two tasting menus: Classic Cruix (7 passes) and Grand Cruix (11 passes). Rice dishes stand out in either of the two options.

4. Avenir (Carrer de l’Avenir 72)

It is a charming bistro-type place that operates continuously from 10 in the morning. They offer dishes of current cuisine with products from the sea and the mountains.

5. Baló, one of the best of the Michelin Guide (Déu I Mata 141)

It has two menus of current cuisine, one that is very economical called “Mediodía” and another that is much more complete called “Degustación”.

6. La Mundana (Vallespir 93)

This Michelin-listed restaurant, located in a residential area of Sants, offers Mediterranean, French and Japanese flavors. It has a menu for sharing among which stand out the Bravas de la Mundana and the Asian calamari.

7. Saó (Cesare Cantù 2)

Located in the upper area of Barcelona, they are committed to seasonal products of proximity. They offer a traditional cuisine with French influences.

8. Michelin Guide: Vivanda (Major de Sarrià 134)

You can find it in a remodeled house in the Sarrià neighborhood. They specialize in traditional Catalan cuisine using market products and current techniques – you have to try the ham croquettes!
