The Lord of the Rings Trilogy in Concert

The complete Lord of the Rings saga is coming to Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi, not only to be screened. It will be the Lord of the Rings in concert with the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès that will perform live the soundtrack of the trilogy.

Peter Jackson’s films will be shown on April 14, 15 and 16, 2023, while live music from the music that makes this film unforgettable.

How can we forget every chord that accompanied the adventures and misfortunes of the hobbit Frodo Baggins and the other characters? The trilogy is a universal classic that raises passions and emotions, generation after generation.

If you have read the books or seen the three movies more than once, what you will feel and experience at the Palau Sant Jordi will be indescribable. Because you can have a direct trip to Middle Earth in April next year.

The Lord of the Rings in concert

In this way, the Palau Sant Jordi will become a movie theater with capacity for 15,000 attendees who will enjoy unforgettable hours among dwarves and elves.

While filming each of the three movies, the Orquestra Sinfónica del Vallès, OSV, will perform live the soundtrack of the saga conducted by Ludwig Wicki and accompanied by soprano Kaitlyn Lusk.

The OSV, with its more than 200 musicians on stage, will be accompanied by the Madrigal, Bruckner Barcelona and Vivaldi choirs. All together these days to sound the scores and bring to life the magical world created by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Since the films are each more than three hours long, Concert Studio organizers plan to pause in the middle of the film so that attendees can take a break.

The Vallés Symphony Orchestra

The OSV is a private Spanish symphony orchestra based in Sabadell. It is a member of the professional orchestras of Catalonia, together with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

It was born in 1987 within the Associació d’Amics de l’Òpera de Sabadell. The following year it became the only symphony orchestra in Spain constituted as a labor corporation. As a result, the musicians and workers are also its owners and shareholders.

Tickets are now available

Tickets for the screening of the trilogy at the Palau Sant Jordi have been on sale since October 6, 2022. A “three-day pass” or a ticket for each film (for each day) is available.

And for those fans of the saga who cannot attend next April, they can go to Madrid where the show is also scheduled for October 6, 7 and 8, 2023 at the WiZink Center.
