The Gastronomic Forum Barcelona at the Montjuïc exhibition site

Until November 9, the Montjuïc exhibition center will host another edition of the Gastronomic Forum Barcelona with the themes of sustainability and people management.

Every autumn, the Catalan capital is the center of the main event for professionals in the hospitality industry throughout the year. Therefore, a hundred speakers and more than 300 exhibiting companies are participating in the event.

The event seeks to showcase the latest trends in beverages, food and equipment for the sector. But, also discuss how the kitchen needs to get more involved in sustainability and social engagement issues.

The main focus of Forum 2022 will be to talk about everything behind the stove, together with the need for management and training of the people who work in restaurants.

The Gastronomic Forum Barcelona: a big family

Since 1999 and every year so far, professionals gather at the event as one big family. The Forum combines the lectures of a congress with sensational live cooking exhibitions.

It also offers a commercial sample by small suppliers and local processors.

Over the last 20 years, the forum has been held in cities such as Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña and Girona. However, from now on the event will be held in Barcelona as it was in 2014.

The 2022 edition was transformed into the new “Gastronomic Forum Barcelona” in association with Alimentaria Exhibitions (Fira de Barcelona company).

The aim is for the event to be held annually every November in order to put on the table and discuss “the keys to the current gastronomic panorama”, according to the event’s director, Josep Alcaraz.

It is estimated that this year’s event will attract around 20,000 professional visitors and that the number of exhibiting companies will grow by 15% compared to the previous edition.

Brands such as Damm, Bidfood, Tupinamba, Collverd, Sosa and Cuinats Jotri are present at the event, as well as other suppliers with a long history in the hospitality sector.

It is also worth mentioning that the exhibition covers an area of some 18,000 square meters.

A unique event

This is the opinion of the participating professionals, who say that the Forum is the best place to share their experiences, learn and grow.

There is no other event like it in Catalonia, which is why it is considered the third best in the world, as the organizers are proud to say.

The Forum’s activities will end on Wednesday, November 9 with a session entitled “Creativity in its purest form, in the kitchen and in liquid gastronomy”, led by Xatruch and his partners Oriol Castro and Mateu Casañas.

In addition, workshops and master cooking classes are also being held.
