Tradition and popular culture at the Santa Eulàlia festivities in February

The city is once again adorned with joy, color and tradition with the celebration of the festivities of Santa Eulalia between 11 and 13 February 2022.

The biggest winter festival in Barcelona arrives this year with a varied program that includes outdoor activities and other celebrations.

The first event will begin on Friday, February 11 with the festive hearing of the carillon of the Palau de la Generalitat. Then the Protocols de l’Àliga and as a novelty this year, the presentation of different concerts of the Cors de Clavé.

Both the parade of the giantess Laia and the ceremony of the banner, will be the acts that will take place on Saturday 12.

On this day you can also enjoy the Encuentro Sardanista Infantil, the Muestra de Grupos de Coros y Danzas Infantiles y Juveniles and the parade of the children’s figures of the colles carrying giants.

The event ends with the Laies walk and the floral offering at the descent of Santa Eulàlia.

On Sunday 13th the bagpipers will be in charge of waking up the neighborhood of Ciutat Vella.

The Falcons de Barcelona will offer the show prior to the Festa Castellera de Santa Eulàlia, with the participation of eight colles of the city.

There will also be the Encounter of Lace Makers, the Encounter of Drummers or the correfoc of the little devils and small beasts.

And the best way to end the festivities is with a great fireworks display full of light and color.
