Tot 1 € Bar: the bar where everything costs one euro

You would think that in Barcelona it would be impossible to find a bar where everything costs one euro, but this is not the case. Tot 1 € Bar is a “low cost” bar in the city , a real proposal in the midst of the current inflation.

Imagine what you can consume with 5 euros. That’s why on weekends there is a line to get in. This Eixample store advertises on blackboards the variety of products it offers. Of course, all at one euro.

Beer, bikinis, coke, hamburgers, coffees, doughnuts and croissants: yes, everything for one euro, even if it’s hard to believe.

Josep Serral, the owner of Tot 1 € Bar, says that 7 families live from this business. The initial idea came from a friend of his who set it up 8 years ago, but for the last 5 years it has been under his management.

It survived the pandemic with the only secret being that costs must be excessively controlled.

The bar where everything costs one euro “stays” open

That’s an understatement, but it could be true, since they are open 18.5 hours a day. There will always be diners from morning breakfast whether they are tourists or locals and so on throughout the day.

It is usually open from 7:30 am to 2 am. On weekends, it is in service until 3 a.m.

And it must be open all these hours because it is received from “eurito en eurito”, says its owner.

It is known as “The cheapest bar in Barcelona” and the same customers have made it known through social networks.

Quality ingredients

The ingredients used to prepare the menu items are of good quality. For example, Josep explains, the meat is from Makro; the bikini bread is from Bimbo; the pastries are from Alvilardan (which has been making bread all its life).

He says he tries everything offered at the bar, including drinks and food, soft drinks, alcohol and all brands. In this way, it is possible to identify the best alternatives.

The hamburgers are 110 grams accompanied by bread and a sachet of ketchup.

If the bell can be heard ringing, it is because a customer left a tip. Some pay one euro for each product, but leave tips with 10 and 20 euro bills.

If you go after 10 pm you will find dimmed lights, music videos and more atmosphere. From 11 p.m. onwards, you can already find queues on weekends and a higher demand for cocktails.

In addition, you will find friendly service and good attention. There are even customers who applaud them.
