The Barcelona Dibuixa 2022 Festival in honor of the embraces

During the next weekend (October 22 and 23, 2022), the Barcelona Dibuixa 2022 Festival will take place, with workshops for different ages and artistic levels. In which drawing, which is the best form of expression without limits, colors, lines, figures, imagination and creativity captured at the time of drawing, will take the event.

The 2022 edition of the festival has a very special touch. It is a tribute to the embrace, the physical contact and the spontaneity of human relationships that is recovering after the pandemic. Therefore, the central theme of this year’s Barcelona Dibuixa is the embrace.

Different schools, museums, theaters, civic and cultural centers and other spaces in different districts of Barcelona, will be the scenarios of this wonderful annual meeting.

The festival is co-produced by the Institut de cultura de Barcelona, ICUB, and the Museu Picasso.

The more than 40 workshops that will take place during the two days will be held in an open format. All of this so that whoever wishes can join the festival at any time.

Likewise, artists such as Èlia Llach, Olga Capdevila, Pere Llobera, Xavi Bou, Xano Armenter, Alfredo Costa Monteiro, among others, will be some of the artists who will be waiting for the attendees.

The workshops will focus on the affectionate gesture of a hug. If you want to attend, you will be guided by these professional artists who will propose challenges and ideas for you to draw.

In addition, the novelty is that this year the event will no longer be a one-day event (Saturday, October 22), as it used to be. The day will also be held throughout Sunday, October 23.

So, don’t stay at home and go to the nearest place to draw!

The proposal of the drawing festival in the city is extended to educational centers. Cartoonists of all ages will be able to participate, from bressol schools to university.

The activities in these institutions will be the setting for exploring how drawing can be used to learn, communicate, think and document learning processes. It will be a practical exercise to use drawing as a transdisciplinary tool.

Also, within the framework of the festival and in collaboration with the Consorci d’Educació de Barcelona, a 15-hour training will be offered with 3Art (Dimas Fàbregas, Marco Fragoso and Toni Vila), exclusively for teachers.

It will provide guidance to participating teachers on how to incorporate drawing as an instrumental language in all learning.
