Las Ramblas is a pedestrian walkway in the center of the city that is more than a kilometer long. It starts at Plaça de Catalunya and connects with the Mirador de Colón. Its route is known by different names: La Rambla de Canaletes, then La Rambla dels Estudis and ends with La Rambla de las Flores or Sant Josep.

The central promenade of the street is lined with flower stalls, kiosks, stores, cafes and street artists, among other stores. On the sides you will find the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Palau de la Virreina and the Boqueria Market.

Its origin dates back to the 18th century, when it was laid out along the medieval wall of Barcelona. It is ranked as the fourth most valuable tourist attraction in the world.

La Boqueria

La Boqueria or Mercado de San José is the most traditional market in Barcelona. It offers delicious and fresh products with sensational aromas and colors that serve as an environment to take good pictures for locals and tourists. There you can buy fresh fruits, nuts, vegetables, sweets, seeds, meats, fish, cheese and dairy products.

The Wax Museum

It is a private museum that houses a collection of more than 200 wax figures of real and fictional characters. It was opened to the public in 1973 and receives some 200,000 visitors a year.

On leaving the museum you can enter two curious cafes: one is the “Fairy Forest”, a magical space where gnomes live among the trees, and the other, the “Passage of Time” with an avant-garde style.
