This year the Grec 2019 festival comes loaded with the best dance, circus and theater shows both local and foreign. You will be able to enjoy a very select program that gathers 94 presentations with 436 performances throughout the season, embellishing the summer festival of Barcelona.
Although the presentations began on June 26, they will continue until the end of July. This year, for the first time in history, the artists are a group composed of an equal number of men and women.
The thematic proposal of the Grec is an Anglo-Saxon journey from Melbourne to New York, with great international protagonists that you cannot miss.

Taylor Mac is a phenomenon born in the last decade in New York. For this occasion the festival offers a short version of its history along with that of American music. You will experience how communities are built from the struggle against oppression, marginalization and destruction.
While the story is a profound reflection on the United States, it is also a reflection on the world today. The play is a mixture of entertainment, music, activism and bravery where the audience plays an active role in the show, making it also a protagonist.

French film and theater actress Isabelle Huppert returns to Barcelona after playing Hedda Gabler at the Lliure in 2005. She returns accompanied by American director Robert Wilson, the father of minimalism. This time she plays Mary Stuart, Huppert’s second monologue with director Wilson.
