Barcelona's iconic stadium will now be called

After FC Barcelona signed a sponsorship agreement with the Swedish streaming music company, Barcelona’ s stadium will be called “Spotify Camp Nou”.

As of July 2022, it will change its name from the start of the next season.

The pact signed between the parties will add the Spotify name to the sports arena for which Barça will be paid around 64 million euros per season. This amount exceeds the 55 million previously received from Rakuten.

The advertising setup was completed by Stanley (three million) and Beko (10 million). The sum now estimated to be contributed by Spotify may reach more than €250 million.

As Spotify will be the main sponsor, the name will also appear on the FCB men’s and women’s first team jerseys for the next four seasons starting next summer 2022.

The agreement also provides for the inclusion of the company’s name on the training jerseys of both teams for three seasons from the 2022-23 season.

Although the contract has already been signed and will take effect from next season, it must be ratified by the extraordinary virtual shareholders’ meeting to be held on April 3.

FC Barcelona and Spotify said they are very pleased with the partnership because it will bring the world of soccer and entertainment together.

And the agreement comes at a good time, as the azulgrana entity needs urgent income to meet the budget of 765 million euros.
