After lunch, take a nap in the restaurant.

After lunch, take a nice nap in the restaurant.

Just as you read it. There is already in Barcelona the “Nappuccino Corner”, inside The Lobster Roll, the first place where after lunch you can take a nap in the restaurant.

Best of all, you can use one of the letters to rest for an hour after enjoying a delicious meal. And all in response to one of the most deeply rooted Spanish traditions: sleeping a little while after eating.

It is a pleasure that is already part of the daily life of many people after consuming proteins and carbohydrates that stimulate the production of serotonin and, incidentally, sleep.

Studies indicate that napping promotes cardiovascular recovery, improves health and learning capacity. The secret is that it should not be longer than 30 minutes, because if the nap is longer, it can affect the regulation of nighttime sleep.

But Lobster Roll thought about this need, because if it comes to eating out, there would be no place to take a nap. But now the site exists and you can test how it works for you.

Take a nap at the Lobster Roll restaurant in Barcelona.

The restaurant has set up some intimate letters where you can enjoy your siesta away from prying eyes.

If you decide to eat the star dish of the house which is a seafood roll (between 8 and 12 euros), you have the option of enjoying an hour of rest in one of these cushioned cubicles.

However, they are strictly for individual use and cannot be shared for any reason.

Lobster Roll Barcelona (C/ de Muntaner, 22) opened its doors to the public last June.

The novelty is that next to the chairs and tables of the diners, there is the “Nappuccino Corner” or rest areas that even offer lamps and plugs.

These cubicles already existed when the restaurant arrived. They were part of a similar idea but it was a cafe. It is now a restaurant. And it took advantage of the first franchise in Barcelona. Formerly a café, now a restaurant.

Siesta rules

It could be said that a “sort of contract” is made for an hour after lunch. However, if there are not many people on the premises, an extension of 15 minutes or even half an hour is possible.

But the idea is that everyone can enjoy the space, which is why the individual resting time in the cubicles is regulated. Many of the clients have already taken this customary nap.

Several workers in the area, many of whom live outside the city and arrive very early to work in the capital, take advantage of the opportunity to eat and rest.

The specialties of the Lobster Roll restaurant are seafood sandwiches (lobster, crab, shrimp), with homemade French bread.
