The Villavecchia Foundation celebrates the Solidarity Christmas Market from November 22nd to 25th.

The Christmas spirit is present in a solidary way in the city of Barcelona, and is that the traditional Christmas Market Solidarity is back with even more charm. This event, which emerged in 2011 thanks to the effort and dedication of a group of volunteers from the Enriqueta Villavecchia Children’s Oncology Foundation, has been growing year after year, becoming an essential event for locals and visitors who want to enjoy Christmas in a special way.

In 2022, the solidarity market received more than 2,000 visitors, counting on the collaboration of 50 solidarity companies, 100 volunteers and 26 educational centers. However, this 2023 brings exciting new features that promise to make the event even more memorable.

The main novelty is the expansion of the market from two to four days. Now, visitors will be able to enjoy this solidarity experience from Wednesday, November 22 through Saturday, November 25, from 10 am to 9 pm. This extension will allow more people to enjoy the Christmas magic that surrounds Casa Capell, located in the picturesque neighborhood of Gràcia.

In addition, this year a special touch has been added to the Christmas decorations, thanks to a generous donation from the Mapfre Tower. The addition of this new decoration promises to envelop attendees in an even more festive and warm atmosphere.

Behind the organization of this charming solidarity market is the Villavecchia Foundation’s technical team and a dedicated group of volunteers. Every year, numerous companies, organizations and friends join the cause by donating products and handicrafts for sale. The most important thing is that all the profits obtained are destined to care programs for children and young people suffering from cancer or other serious diseases, as well as to support their families, through the Villavecchia Foundation.

The Christmas Market Solidario de Barcelona is not only an occasion to find unique and special gifts for Christmas, but also an opportunity to live the spirit of solidarity and give a deeper meaning to this festive season. Every purchase made at the market contributes to a noble cause and gives hope to families battling serious illnesses.

So, this year, mark your calendar and visit Casa Capell in the Gràcia neighborhood from November 22 to 25. Discover the charm of a solidarity Christmas market that grows and renews itself with each edition, reminding us that generosity and solidarity are the best gifts we can give at this time of year.

The space is organized in several corners:

– THE MAGICAL FOREST.

.Children and young people who must cope with a serious long-term illness must spend long periods at home or admitted to the hospital, and crafts are a great resource. That’s why we propose every year in several schools in the metropolitan area a solidarity craft in the shape of a star.

The star has a very special meaning, since it is linked to all the children and young people we have accompanied and who have left us. Children from about thirty schools participate by making hundreds of stars and decorating this small forest of Christmas fir trees.

– FOOD CORNER.

Space for food products that can be purchased individually or in Christmas packs, from special beers and bottles of white and red wine to oils, handmade sweets, breakfast and snack packs, and many other items.

Not to be missed will be the “Chocolate Smiles to care for the lives of sick children”, a new solidarity chocolate made by Chocolates Torras for the Villavecchia Foundation.

– CHRISTMAS CORNER.

A space full of objects to decorate the home and gift items loaned by collaborating companies. It is also the space where many friends and volunteers of the Foundation bring their crafts.

There will be from Christmas tions, and gift boxes to cosmetics, ceramic pieces, details for the little ones, Christmas decorations and many other objects, in addition to the solidarity doll Keta.

– NATURAL CORNER.

Space dedicated to natural Christmas products: natural advent wreaths, table centerpieces, various types of plants, decorative items made with natural and sustainable products….

In addition, there will be activities for the whole family, such as workshops and face painting.
