Bikers dressed as Santa Claus and Santa Claus Office in Barcelona

For the next December 18, 2022 and with the idea of celebrating Christmas, bikers dressed as Santa Claus will ride through the center of Barcelona in the multitudinous appointment of each year better known as “Papanoelada”.

Hundreds of bikers, disguised as Santa Claus, will ride through the city.

The event will start at 4:30 p.m. at Carrer de les Ciències, 83, in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. From this meeting point all motorcyclists will start the journey to the Catalan capital.

Bikers dressed as Santa Claus: it is not an organized event.

The route is not an organized event but a “peaceful gathering”, so participants are asked to respect the law at all times.

For its part, the Barcelona City Council is against the biker Papanoelada mainly because of the pollution it generates and the excessive noise.

In fact, in 2019 they asked the Generalitat not to authorize it, since the Guardia Urbana presented a negative report on the biker gathering.

For 2018, more than 4,000 bikers managed to gather and the ride served to collect toys for children from families in situations of vulnerability and exclusion.

In that year, each participant delivered a toy and all of them were donated to the Red Cross.

In that year they held the fifth edition of the tour, which was organized by Unlimited Racing Bikes. It started at the Reina Maria Cristina Avenue and extended to Plaça de Catalunya, Via Laietana, Passeig Marítim to Avinguda del Paral-lel where they returned to the starting point.

Santa Claus Office

Another of the Christmas plans in Barcelona is the one that will take place at El Mandarin Oriental (Passeig de Gràcia, 38-40), one of the most exclusive hotels in Barcelona.

It will open its doors to the general public with a Christmas market located in the hotel’s Mimosa Gardens.

It will be a magical space with a flea market made up of handicraft chalets and an exquisite gastronomic offer typical of the Christmas season.

You can enjoy excellent snacks such as oysters with a glamorous touch, butifarra hot dogs and the traditional churros with chocolate. But the most traditional thing will be to find in the gardens the Santa Claus Office.

It is a magical place where the little ones can write their letter with their wishes and deposit it in the mailbox of the office, while Santa Claus rests in the suite of the Mandarin.

Schedules:

You will be able to enjoy these Christmas wonders from December 9th to 22nd from 4pm to 8pm from Monday to Friday.

During weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), the hours will be from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. On December 22, it will be open all day long, that is, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm.
