The star of the Sagrada Familia illuminates Barcelona again

The star of the Sagrada Familia located in the tower of the Maria and inaugurated on December 8, 2021 for Christmas and New Year’s Eve, returns to illuminate Barcelona according to sunlight.

The Barcelona City Council and the management of the basilica reached an agreement that the star will shine every night.

It is planned to be turned on again three days before the start of the Mobile World Congress, MWC.

Schedules

So far it is known that the remaining days of February, the star will illuminate from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Afterwards, the schedule will be adapted according to the presence of natural light.

In March it is estimated that it will be lit at 7:30 pm and in April at 9:00 pm.

During the month of May at 9:00 pm and in July at 10:00 pm.

The star of the Sagrada Familia

It is 138 meters high and 7.5 meters in diameter and was lit until January 9 at the end of the holiday season.

It has glass that is illuminated by the passage of the sun. At night, each of the pyramidal points of the star will have a dimmable LED spotlight that will distribute the light to the five pyramidal faces of the star.

The glass used for the construction of the star is rough, not smooth. Otherwise, at night it would be difficult to distinguish its shape correctly.

Once again Barcelona is illuminated from the Sagrada Familia. Light and joy for the city.
