ECC, the comic book superstore, opens in Gràcia

En Gràcia abre ECC, la macrotienda del cómic

ECC Cómics, the Spanish publisher of the DC and Marvel universes, has opened a new comic book superstore in the Gràcia district of Barcelona.

The new store offers a wide selection of comics from the DC, Marvel and Star Wars series, as well as a variety of merchandising.

At 400 square metres, it is the second largest shop after Norma Comics and the fourth largest for ECC Cómics. They already operate in Alicante, Alcorcón and in the Las Arenas shopping centre in Plaza Espanya.

The shop is located at the intersection of Torrent de l’Olla and Bonavista. The location was chosen because of its proximity to the parent company, ECC Ediciones, which publishes the DC and Marvel universes in Spain.

The shop is a large importer, especially of merchandising, where they boast a wide catalogue of figures and statues, with a speciality in the Star Wars universe.

ECC, the comic book superstore

ECC Cómics opens in Barcelona with a stock of more than 25,000 items on sale and around 350 new titles every month.

The new shop stands out for its wide aisles where you can comfortably browse the latest novelties and back issues.

The structure of the shelves and the merchandising layout are strategically differentiated in their own spaces, making it easy and convenient to find what you are looking for.

The area where the new ECC Cómics shop is located, in Gràcia, is not the only one in the city where comic shops are concentrated.

The Triangle Friki, near Arc de Triomf, is considered ground zero for the comics sector and its derivatives in Barcelona, where Norma Comics, Gigamesh and Freaks are located, along with other shops.

However, Albert Benavente, coordinator of ECC shops, stated that they did not want to make “the mistake” of opening in this area, but chose Gràcia because of its strategic location and the opportunity to rent space in the area.

What ECC Cómics is looking for

One of ECC Cómics’ objectives is not only to be a reference point for comics among the Barcelona public, but also among tourists.

Therefore, part of its strategy is to appear in guidebooks and promote itself to become a must-visit place for comic lovers visiting Barcelona.

In addition, its wide variety of comics and merchandising makes the shop a popular spot for collectors.

ECC Cómics created a new paradise for comic lovers in Gràcia, Barcelona, with a wide selection of comics and merchandising in a large shop.

The company was born in 2012 in Barcelona and has become one of the leading publishers and distributors of comics.
