Cala Pola and Aiguablava, the most beautiful beaches of Catalonia

In the world there are soft sandy beaches, volcanic, with cliffs, surrounded by thick vegetation, rocky, hidden and turquoise waters. And why are we telling you this that you probably already know? Because it is the perfect opener to tell you that recently the National Geographic magazine, as it usually does every year, has released the ranking with the 25 best beaches in Spain, where Cala Pola and Aiguablava located in Catalonia stand out.

Cala Pola and Aiguablava, have you visited them?

If you have not yet gone to lie on the sand of either of these two beaches, perhaps this is the sign you were waiting for to understand that you cannot miss the opportunity to visit this pair of paradises. And we do not say so ourselves, the prestigious National Geographic magazine takes the time each year to highlight the best of the nearly 8,000 kilometers of coastline that bathe the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

Both beaches are on the Costa Brava and are probably already crowded with locals and tourists who are enjoying the summer.

Pola Cove

It is located only four kilometers from the town of Tossa de Mar (Girona). What can you expect from this beach? Many incredible things, but mainly it has a thick and golden sand, very clear and calm waters, which makes it perfect for the whole family.

As stated in the magazine in question:

“The scenery around Cala Pola is spectacularly beautiful.”

Aiguablava

This beach, on the other hand, offers a dream landscape, as it has cliffs and a lot of pine forest vegetation. In addition, its turquoise waters invite you to take a refreshing dip. Located in Begur, a beautiful medieval village, it is one of the most representative of the Costa Brava and is only 100 meters long, however, that did not prevent the magazine from placing it in the prestigious ranking.
